Mom as the agency caregiver!

When it comes to long-term waiver supports, you do not have to turn over your care to a stranger just to get the help you need. We believe that true quality care begins with trust.

Through our agency structure we provide, the Tennessee waiver programs can give you the complete freedom to choose exactly who steps into your home as your paid caregiver. Whether you are an adult client directing your own care, or a parent organizing support for your child, you make the choices.

The person you select simply needs to pass Tennessee’s standard background and compliance requirements, and we handle all the training and onboarding details to get them fully cleared.

You do not have to accept an agency-assigned worker nor do you need to be the employer. Instead, you select the person who best fits your life and family dynamics:

  • Choose to Be the Caregiver Yourself: If you are a live-in parent or relative providing around-the-clock care, our agency can hire you directly as a W-2 employee. This turns your daily caregiving hours into a reliable, tax-exempt paycheck so you can afford to stay home with your loved one.
  • Hire a Trusted Family Member or Friend: If you want or need to work outside the home, you don’t have to hire a company stranger. You can select a trusted aunt, adult sibling, neighbor, or lifelong family friend. Our agency will handle their onboarding, background checks, and payroll so they can get paid to help your household.
  • A Reliable Backup Network: Life happens. If your primary chosen caregiver gets sick or needs a break, you are in the driver’s seat to name a backup person you already know and trust to temporarily step in, keeping your care consistent while giving you peace of mind.
Loving assistance.

Once our official state licensing phase concludes, TennChoice Support Services will handle the full payroll administration for the following authorized, non-clinical home and community-based services—completely customized to your daily family routines:

Supportive Home Care: This focuses on maintaining a safe, organized, and sanitary household. Your caregiver receives compensation for helping with light housekeeping, laundry, grocery shopping, and providing essential accompaniment out in the community.

Personal Care Support: This covers the essential daily routines your chosen caregiver already provides. It funds direct assistance with vital activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, and basic meal preparation.

In-Home Respite Support: This provides vital relief for primary family caregivers. Your approved waiver funding allows a secondary trusted family member, neighbor, or friend to step in and handle temporary supervision, ensuring your loved one remains safe and secure.

Attendant Care Support: Designed for families balancing complex care needs. This service utilizes your trusted caregiver to provide the exact same personal care assistance, but is authorized for extended daily shifts that require continuous coverage.
